Camping
24 hours tent camping in the fall and a two day retreat in the spring. An opportunity to step away from the noise and busyness of campus, and plug into the space of what God is teaching us and the people He has put around us.

Through messages, intentional small group time, and conversations we seek to cultivate authentic relationships. Our hope is that every person feels known, loved, cared for, and challenged to go deeper in their relationship with Christ.

We hang out, play games, share meals, and enjoy being together. Kamp is a place to have fun, be yourself, and build genuine friendships built on Christ that go back to campus with you.

Christ
Kamp is nothing without Jesus Christ. Everything comes from Him and flows back to Him. Through worship, scripture reading, teaching, and prayer, our goal is to create a space to seek the Lord, to hear His Word, and invite the Holy Spirit to come and move in and through us. We pray that we not only learn more about Jesus but truly encounter Him, are changed by Him, and leave Kamp ready to make Him known.

About Us
Kamp Love at Samford
Our first official Kamp: Fall 2024.
Kamp Love Samford held its first official Kamp in the fall of 2024 — and God has been moving on our campus ever since.
We're a student-led ministry on purpose. Every Kamp is planned, prayed over, and led by Samford students who want to see their friends meet Jesus in a real way.

Our story
Where Kamp Love began
Camp Lope
A friend-group camping trip
Kamp Love started at Grand Canyon University as "Camp Lope" — a trip to get out of Phoenix, into creation, and into real connection with other students around the good news of Jesus.
2021
Renamed in honor of Jarod
Jarod Lovekamp helped grow Camp Lope. After he went home to be with the Lord on September 29, 2020, his friends renamed it Kamp Love to honor the life he lived for the gospel — and God told them to dream big.

Why we exist
Our Mission
Kamp Love exists to transform students' lives by the gospel through camping, connection, community & Christ.
Our vision
Disciples who make disciples.
We see a world where students on every college campus are equipped in their supernatural gifts and passions to make disciples who make disciples and reach the world for Christ.
Driven by a desire to see "on earth as it is in heaven" become reality, we use Kamp to equip students to reach the lost and live passionately in the way of Jesus.
We're deeply connected to the local church. We don't exist to replace it. We partner with local church leaders so students keep being discipled long after Kamp ends, and we train student leaders to do the work of ministry on campus.
